In Loving Memory Of
Rosa Maria Bazan
April 6, 1957 – March 22, 2026
Rose Maria Bazan, age 68, entered eternal rest on March 22, 2026, peacefully at home surrounded by her dogs and husband. She was born on April 6, 1957, in Weslaco, Texas, and later made her home in Harlingen, Texas, alongside her beloved husband, Joe Bazan.
Rose was a vibrant and joyful woman whose love for her family and faith in God defined her life.
She is survived by her devoted husband, Joe Bazan; her six children, Jason Bazan, Daniel Bazan, David Bazan, Rebeca Wake, Sarah Bazan, and Samuel Bazan. She was a proud and loving grandma to Keilani Rose Bazan, Ezra Bazan, Camille Bazan, Autumn Bazan, Rin Bazan, Cameron Wake, and Andrew Wake. Also survived by her sister, Nora Munoz; her brother-in-law, Fernando Munoz, and their son, Nando Munoz.
She is now reunited in heaven with her parents, Rafael Silva and Mina Silva, her eldest son Aaron Bazan; and her in-laws, Ofelio Bazan and Agustina Bazan.
Rose dedicated her career to serving others as a pediatric physical therapist, working throughout the Brownsville, Harlingen, Edinburg areas. A proud graduate of Texas Woman’s University Physical Therapy program in 1979, she carried her knowledge and compassion into a lifelong calling. She had a special gift for helping children overcome challenges, bringing hope, healing, and joy to countless families.
Her love extended deeply into every part of her life. In her younger years, Rose had a deep passion for volleyball and played an impressive game throughout her early twenties into her thirties. She found peace and happiness in nature—gardening, planting, and creating her cherished fairy garden. She adored her dogs and enjoyed taking them on walks. Rose loved dancing, singing, and spending meaningful time talking and laughing with her children and grandchildren.
She was a woman of incredible strength and unwavering faith. A devoted, born-again believer, Rose had a deeply personal relationship with Jesus Christ. She leaned on prayer in every season of life, boldly proclaiming scripture over her family and trusting God’s protection and purpose. Her life was a testimony to His faithfulness.
Rose also treasured time with family, especially the tradition of gathering together— moments filled with laughter, love, and connection that will be deeply missed. One of her most cherished roles was being present at the births of her two youngest grandsons, staying by their sides for weeks and surrounding them with love from the very beginning.
Rose formed lifelong friendships and left a lasting impact on everyone who knew her. Her legacy of love, faith, and strength will live on through her family and all whose lives she touched. Though our hearts are heavy, we find comfort in knowing that Rose is rejoicing in heaven with her Lord and Savior. She will be deeply missed and forever loved.
