Rosa Morana Obituary

Rosa Morana, whose unwavering love for God was evident in every aspect of her life, died peacefully in her sleep on October 9, 2024. Born in 1926 in Buenos Aires, Argentia, Rosa lived a life full of love, compassion, friendship, and creative artistry. Most of all, Rosa found her greatest joy and comfort through her devotion to her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.

Rosa had a remarkable love story with her husband, Angelo, to whom she devoted herself for 66 wonderful years until his passing in 2020. Their enduring love and commitment to each other were a testament to the strength of their bond and the depth of their affection. Together, they built a life filled with love, laughter, and cherished memories. In 1954, they had their first son, Horacio. It was Angelo's dream to immigrate to the United States, and in 1960 they arrived and lived in Lincoln Heights, California, where their second son, Edward, was born in 1963. In 1968, Rosa and Angelo moved their family to a brand-new planned community called Valencia. Rosa immediately became a parishioner at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Church, and in 1972 Rosa joined the Italian Catholic Federation, where she chaired St. Joseph's table for several years.

It took until 1976 for Rosa to get her high school diploma from Hart High School, but that did not stop her from having an amazing career as a seamstress. It began in 1965 when she worked for Rudi Gernreich, Inc. In 1969, she received a degree from the Trippon Fashion Center and became an employee for Elizabeth the First. Working under Ray Aghayan, Elizabeth Courtney, and Bob Mackie, Rosana (the name Bob gave her) was part of the team responsible for making dresses for The Carol Burnet Show and The Sonny and Cher Show, among others.

Her children, Horace and his wife Kristin, Edward and his wife Sue, as well as her four grandchildren, Eric, Peter, Amanda, and Kelly, and one great-grandson, Justin, survive her. Her family will forever hold her memory in their hearts. Rosa's legacy of compassion, strength, faith, and love will continue to inspire all who knew her.

Services will be held at Our Lady of Perpetual Help at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, November 13th. Following the ceremony, Cemetery Committal will be held at San Fernando Mission Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests making a charitable contribution in Rosa's name to St. Jude's Children's Cancer Research Fund or a faith-based charity of the donor's choice.
