Roy Louis Correnti, 80, of Merrimack, NH passed away unexpectedly on Wednesday, December 7, 2022, at his home.
He was born in Boston, MA on September 2, 1942, to the late Joseph and Alfina (Montalto) Correnti. Growing up, he was an altar boy at St Joseph Catholic Church and earned money selling newspapers on the historic Commons in Boston. At age 13, Roy had his first introduction to working in the grocery industry, delivering orders on Beacon Hill. After attending Somerville High School, Roy enlisted in the United States Army. He was assigned to the 3rd Infantry and served in the 64th Armor Regiment. He served as a tank loader, driver, gunner & tank commander in Germany. After returning home, Roy was able to continue his education, taking classes at Bunker Hill Community College.
Roy made a career working for several grocery stores over the years. He excelled at managing new stores and enjoyed working at many locations for Market Basket. Before retiring, he became a supervisor at Advantage Sales & Marketing where he enjoyed traveling and applying his vast experience in the supermarket industry. When he wasn’t working hard providing for his family, Roy loved working on cars, antiquing, and traveling to see family.
He will be forever loved and cherished by his wife of 35 years, MiKyong Correnti. He was the proud father of three children: daughter, Donna Pincince and her husband David of Somersworth, NH; son, Michael Correnti and his wife Tracy of Harrisburg, NC; and son Brian Correnti and his wife Cathy of Somersworth, NH. He was a loving grandfather to 13 grandchildren: Zachary Pincince, Nathan Pincince, Matthew & Emily Pincince, Joshua Pincince, Andrew Pincince, Rachel Pincince, Rebecca Pincince, Jacob Pincince, Hannah Pincince, Elizabeth Correnti, Caleb Correnti, Kevin Kim and Ellice Kim.
Along with his parents, Roy was pre-deceased by a sister, Carol Gastelum. He is also survived by his siblings Lillian Victor of Lancaster, PA, Francine Roy of Leominster, MA and Vincent Correnti and his partner Michael Pennington of Seal Beach, CA. “Butchie”, as he was known to his family, will be greatly missed by many cousins, nieces, nephews, extended family, and friends.
A memorial service will be held at the Rivet Funeral Home, 425 Daniel Webster Highway, Merrimack NH on Saturday, December 17th at 2 pm, following an hour of visitation from 1 – 2 pm. A private military honors burial will be held at later date at the NH State Veterans Cemetery in Boscawen, NH.
