Rudolph Conway Hartley, Sr., 84, of Horseshoe Neck Rd., Lexington passed away on Monday, July 17, 2017 at his home. A Memorial service will be held at 5:00 pm on Thursday, July 20, 2017 at Churchland Baptist Church with Revs. Robbie Stephens and Jerry Wilkes officiating.
The family will receive friends following the service in the fellowship hall and other times at the home.
Mr. Hartley was born July 25, 1932 in Davidson County to Roy Washington Hartley and Annie Cope Hartley. He was a retired supervisor with PPG. He was awarded the Fellowship Degree of Honor from the Spencer Moose Lodge 2019, he was also a member of the Amvets of Lexington and a past member of the Churchland Lions. Preceding him in death was his first wife, Lois Lomax Hartley in 1971, two brothers, Seabon (Buck) Hartley, Donnie Hartley, and two sisters, Kathleen Beane and Dorothy (Dot) Troxell.
Surviving are his wife of 43 years, Brenda Yarbrough Hartley of the home; a son, Rudolph (Rudy) Hartley, Jr. (Sharon) of Lexington; a brother, Thomas Hartleyand a sister, Sue Williams both of Linwood; many nieces and nephews, great nieces and nephews and great great nieces and nephews and one great great great nephew.
In Lieu of flowers memorials may be directed to Churchland Baptist Church, 7516 S NC Hwy 150, Lexington, NC 27295
