Russ Mobley

1947 - 2026

 Russell Keith “Russ” Mobley, age 78, of Wellston, passed away Friday, March 27, 2026, at St. Mary’s Medical Center in Huntington, West Virginia.  He was born September 26, 1947 in Louisville, Kentucky, son of the late James Mobley and Sylvia Wilson Helton.  Russ was a 1966 graduate of Hamilton Township High School.  He was a former employee of Steve Evans Sausage and in his spare time he enjoyed playing basketball, raising Great Danes and wolves, and tinkering with his collection of old cars.  Russ was a member of the Petrea Church and Moose Lodge #1626 in Chillicothe.  He is survived by his daughter and son-in-law, Lisa and Jeff Thomas (Jeff); 4 grandchildren, Kyla Jenkinson (Dustin), Jared Bandy, Jacob Mobley and Kyle Mobley, and 2 great-grandchildren, Sophia Greene and Ava Jenkinson.  Besides his parents, Russ was preceded in death by his wife and longtime companion, Sue Blankenship, and his son, Russell Keith Mobley, Jr.  Through tissue donation, Russ provided a second chance at life for others.  In keeping with Russ’s request, cremation followed his passing.  Arrangements are under the direction of the McWilliams Funeral Home in Wellston.
