Russell Lawrence Hehir, age 74 of Lewiston, passed away Sunday, October 13, 2024. Preceded in death by John (Father) and Barbara (Mother). Survived by his wife, children, grandchildren and numerous other family members and friends.
Russ found his calling as a water well driller and proudly operated his successful business of 45 years with the help of his family and friends. Russ took great pride providing one of the essentials in life (water) to his customers and worked tirelessly year-round to ensure his patrons were cared for. When Russ retired, he found renewed interest in the shooting sports which quickly grew into an obsession. Russ joined the National Sporting Clays Association and became a member of a local sportsman club where he devoted his time and became an elite shooter. He also enjoyed time in the field hunting and playing with his toys on the property. His labrador dogs Lily and Daisy were his best companions. Russ was a devoted husband, father, and friend to many and will be remembered as a Titan of a Man.
A private memorial will be held by the immediate family. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Tunnels to Towers Foundation (www.T2T.org) or local animal shelter. The family welcomes memories and messages at www.lasheleyfuneralhome in their guest book online.

We had not heard of his death. He was a dear friend to our family for years.

Russ was the greatest husband, father, patriarch, business man, and friend that could ever be. I miss him so much. The size of the hole in all of our hearts for him is a testament to the stature of the man we lost. Our family will all come together to love each other even more, in the hope of making up for the fact that Russ is now only in our hearts.

Russ was my kind, loving friend and brother in law. He was the best Dad and husband and brother. He raised his sons with hard work ethics, integrity and respect and they both matured into strong incredible men just like him. The oldest seamlessly taking over his role as patriarch immediately. Caring and nurturing in the same quiet subtle but oh so strong way. Russ was the best shooter I've ever seen and such a wonderful teacher, teaching his knowledge in a million different ways. He loved his family and his dogs like his own children and they loved him back even more. What a gift you gave my sister in loving her for almost fifty years. You will be missed Russ Hehir and we are all better for having known you. Rest in peace and be the best sportsman in heaven. We will still be loving you here on earth.
