Ruth Hicks

1943 - 2018

Ruth Cline Hicks, 74, of Turkey Creek, KY, formerly of Williamson, WV, passed away Tuesday May 8, 2018 at her residence. Ruth was born June 3, 1943 in War Eagle, WV, to the late Elmer Cline and Mary Sheppard Cline. Ruth is also preceded in death by her husband, Freddie Lee Hicks, a very special granddaughter, Tabatha Holbrook, two brothers, Daniel "Danny" Cline and Charles Cline. Four Sisters, Annie and Fanny Cline, Dorothy (Tinnie) Muncy and Wanda Blankenship. Ruth was a homemaker and of the Church of God Faith.
Ruth is survived by two sons Ricky (Darlene) Hicks of Rawl, WV, and Frankie Hicks of Rawl, WV. Three daughters, Teresa (Charles) Stanley of Turkey Creek, KY, Frances (John) May of Turkey Creek, KY, and Deborah Hicks of Williamson, WV, four brothers, Eddie (Vernetta) Cline of Lenore, WV, Eugene Cline of Williamson, WV, Terry Cline of Williamson, WV, and Billy (Mary) Cline of Dans Branch, WV, six sisters, Opal Roberts of Wayne County, WV, Alice Ooten of Ragland, WV, Carolyn (Jeff) Fields of Ragland, WV, Bonnie Dingess of Grey Eagle, WV, Brenda Bowling of SC, and Linda Bowman of Lenore, WV. fourteen grandchildren, Amanda Hall, Christopher Hicks, Natasha Stanley, Daniel Stanley, Matthew May, Austin May, Anthony May, Charity May, Corey May, Tyler Hicks, Samantha Hicks, Dale Hicks, Hannah Sawyer and Jeremy Stanley, ten great grandchildren an a host of loving family and friends.
Funeral services will be conducted at 12 Noon Friday May 11, 2018 at R. E. Rogers Funeral Home with Mikey Smith officiating. Burial will follow in the Rawl Community Cemetery, Rawl, WV with grandsons serving as pallbearers. Visitation will be from 6 - 9 PM Thursday night at the funeral home with special services at 7 PM with Gary Starr officiating. R. E. Roges Funeral Home of Belfry, KY, is serving the Hicks family.
