Salko Omerovic Obituary

Omerovic, Salko, passed away, Sunday, February 15, 2026. Beloved husband of Verosava Omerovic (nee Guduric); dearest father of Majda (Elvir) Ikeljic and Zlatko (Merima) Omerovic; dear grandfather of Ella, Sanel, Safija, Adrijan and Sanjin; brother of Zineta, Ismeta and Izeta; brother-in-law of Zeljko; our dear uncle, cousin and friend of many.

He was a man defined by hard work, quiet strength, and unwavering devotion to his family. A skilled and dedicated worker, he found purpose in working with his hands, taking pride in building, fixing, and creating. His work ethic was not just something he practiced, it was something he lived by and passed on through example.

Though reserved by nature, he carried a deep well of resilience. He lived through many challenges in his life, yet never allowed hardship to harden his heart. Instead, it strengthened his resolve. His greatest goal was simple but powerful: to build a safe, stable, and loving life for his family. Everything he did was rooted in that purpose.

He found peace and joy in the outdoors. Whether surrounded by nature, casting a line while fishing, or watching and talking about soccer, those moments brought him quiet happiness. He had a special love for animals, especially the family pets who were always drawn to his calm presence.

To those who knew him, he was a loyal and trusted friend, steady, dependable, and deeply respected. He did not need many words to make an impact; his actions spoke clearly of his character.

Above all else, his family was his world. His love for his wife, children, and grandchildren was constant and unconditional. He took immense pride in them and found his greatest joy in seeing them safe, happy, and together.

His legacy is one of strength, sacrifice, love, and quiet dignity that will continue to guide generations to come. To us, his family and friends who truly knew him, he was and always will be the very best. Though he is no longer with us in body, he lives on in our hearts, in our memories, and in the foundation he built for all of us.

Services: Graveside service at Bellerive Gardens, 740 N. Mason Rd. 63141, Wednesday, February 18, 2026 11:00 a.m. As a service of the SCHRADER Funeral Home and Crematory, friends may sign the family's on-line guestbook at Schrader.com.

Gudurić); najdraži otac Majde (Elvir) Ikeljic i Zlatka (Merima) Omerović; ponosni deko Elli, Sanelu, Safiji, Adrijanu i Sanjinu; brat Zinete, Ismete i Izete; zet Zeljku; naš dragi amidža/daidža/ujko, rođak i prijatelj mnogima.

Salko was such a kind and gentle man. I have been privileged to have had Salko and Vera for the last many years. They have been such a source of love for me. I am so sad to learn about Salko's passing! He was often at Shenandoah Valley, and he always had a twinkle in his eye and a determination to fix whatever needed fixing. What a loss!

In loving memory of the wonderful person that Salko was. He always came into our building with a smile, a great attitude, tons of happiness to do his job & good stories to share! At one point, he was in our building (Highcroft Ridge Elementary), that I baked brownies & brought them for Salko & his crew as an appreciative gesture! We will definitely miss you ❤ God Bless

Salko was a gem among people. He was so kind and gracious and always smiling. He never hesitated to entertain my ideas and how to execute them in his job. The room was lighter when he walked in. I will definitely miss him. I pray his family finds peace and strength as they navigate their new normal and that his memories will go far in comforting them.

I worked at Parkway School Distric with Salko although not directly, he was in the Painters department and then the Carpenters department and I was in the Hvac department. Whenever I would see Salko at the shop or around the district he would always greet me with that gracious smile of his and always asked how I was or how's it going and was always ready to listen. Over the many years I found out what a good person and man he was, I wish I could have spent more time with him and gotten to know him better. But I am very happy to have gotten to know him at all and I will very much miss his friendly disposition and affectious smile. My heart felt sympathies to his family. May he rest in everlasting peace.

The many, many people in Parkway, including myself, knew Salko to be a selfless, caring, and decent man who led by example with love in his hands and heart. He put others first and treated everyone like family. His kindness, hard work and loyalty rubbed off on everyone he touched. Our deepest condolences and prayers to his family during this most difficult time.
