Sam Rock Jr. 71 of Burkeville, TX died at V.A. Medical Center in Alexandria, LA Thursday October 3, 2013. Funeral services will be Saturday, October 5, 2013 at the Burkeville Church of God at 4:00 P.M. with visitation immediately prior to service. Rev. Dorothy Stewart will preside. Interment will follow at Woods Cemetery. Sam worked as a carpenter most of his life and served his country four years in the U.S. Navy. Pallbearers will be: Benjamin Lindsey, Deed Smith, Joe Clark, Prentice Hopson, Buddy Crochet and Jimmy Poplin. Mr. Rock is survived by His wife of 52 years Jeanette Rock of Burkeville, son, Gary Wayne Rock and his wife Pam of Burkeville, sister Glenda Campbell of Livingston, TX, Grandson Charles Brandon Rock & Coree Lott and his wife Brandie of Burkeville, Granddaughters Cassandra Strange and her husband Kenneth of Forest Hills, LA and Kelsee Lorell Rock of Burkeville. Great Granddaughter Kendra Strange of Forest Hills, LA and Great Grand Daughters Laighla Lynn Lott, Nynah Cheree Lott and Great Grand Sons Memphis Don Lott of all of Maryville, LA. As well of Numerous Nieces, Nephews and Cousins. He was preceded in death by her son Charles Richard Rock and Sister Mary Rock.
