Sandra “Sandie” Natkie, 83, of Brick, New Jersey, passed away peacefully at her home on February 5, 2026, surrounded by family. Born on March 16, 1942, in Elizabeth, New Jersey, she was the cherished daughter of Rose Wade and Edward DeBiasio.
Sandie was raised in Roselle, New Jersey, and graduated from Elizabeth High School. She began her working life in retail, but her greatest and most meaningful role was that of a devoted mother. She dedicated herself fully to raising her three sons, creating a home filled with warmth, laughter, faith, and unconditional love.
A woman of deep faith, Sandie was actively involved in the Catholic Church and taught Catechism classes, guiding countless children with patience and kindness. Later, she returned to the workforce as the disciplinary secretary at Wall Township schools, where her gentle spirit, quick wit, and genuine care left a lasting impression on students and staff alike. Even in moments that required firmness, Sandie led with compassion and humor, making everyone feel seen and valued. Known affectionately as “Mrs. Claus,” Sandie began Christmas shopping on December 26th without fail. She had an extraordinary talent for finding the perfect gift for every person, delighting in both the giving and the thought behind it. That love of treasure hunting became a shared passion with her beloved husband, Adam “Bud” Natkie. Together, they opened a booth at the Antique Emporium, where they spent many years sharing their finds, stories, and smiles with the community.
Sandie and Bud were legendary for their hospitality. Their door was always open, their table always full, and anyone who entered their home was welcomed like family. No one ever left hungry for food, comfort, or kindness. Many may not know that Sandie was also an accomplished fisherwoman in her younger years, winning numerous tournaments with trophies to prove it. In the summer, she could often be found tending to her beautiful flower gardens, and she never allowed a visitor to leave without a freshly cut bouquet—a perfect reflection of who she was.
She was predeceased by her beloved husband, Adam “Bud” Natkie. She is survived by her three sons: Richard Donley and his wife Sharon, Brian Natkie, David Natkie and his wife Kelly.; along with her cherished grandchildren and great-grandson.
Sandie will be remembered for her generous heart, wonderful sense of humor, unwavering kindness, and her ability to make everyone feel like family. Sandie was truly one of a kind, lighting up every room with an unmistakable glow, and those who met her understood instantly that she was special. She had a rare gift for making everyone feel loved, accepted, and at home. Simply put, they don’t make them like her anymore.
