Sandra Walters Obituary

Sandra Jean (Wood) Walters, age 75, of Odessa, TX passed from this life on Monday, February 15, 2021. She was born on Friday, January 25, 1946 to Bernice Houston Wood and Lura Maurine thorn. Sandra married Larry Don Walters in Odessa, TX on March 17, 1962, and together they raised a beautiful family.

Our mother, Sandy, was a loving wife, mother, sister, and grandmama.   She loved her husband, our dad, with all of her heart. He was truly the love of her life, and their continued romance was apparent to all who knew them. Nothing was more important to her than her family. Mama was a quiet woman, and not easily ruffled, but any threat to her children or grandchildren, she would become a mama-bear ready to protect them all.

Mama found a lot of happiness in life. She had her hobbies of sewing, collecting angels, and she loved to fish with our dad. She enjoyed Christmas and Thanksgiving the most, because she had a perfect excuse to decorate and to cook. Those family mealtimes are still treasured memories for all of us: the laughter, the hugs, the kisses, and the joy of being together and always loving one another. Even through sad times and hard times, Mama and Daddy kept us together and held us close. We will miss her all of our lives.

Those left to cherish her love and memories are her sons:  Ronnie Walters and wife Sondra and Cody Walters; daughters:  Diana Patterson and husband Cecil and Christie Landfried and husband Johnny; as well as 10 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 57 years: Don Walters; parents TJ and Maurine Wood; sister: Patricia Robinson and grandson: Dylan Patterson.

Funeral services will be held at 10:00 AM, Tuesday, February 23, 2021 at Acres West Funeral Chapel. Sandra will be laid to rest beside her beloved husband Don Walters at Sunset Memorial Gardens following the funeral services. Arrangements are entrusted to Acres West Funeral Chapel and condolences to the family may be sent online at acreswestfuneral.com.
