Scott passed into eternal life Sunday, July 24th, 2016 after a courageous six month battle with cancer. Scott Allen Vadman was born December 1st, 1956 in Minneapolis.
Scott attended Ascension Catholic Grade School and was a graduate from North High School, Minneapolis in 1975. Scott attended North Hennepin Community College and vocational training to pursue his career. Scott began his working career at the age of 13 delivering papers, shoveling walks and mowing lawns. He was employed at Ruff Bros. and Brix Groceries in the ol’ Northside. Scott was an active member and made dear lifelong friendships through the Minneapolis StarTribune 400 Action Travel Club. Scott’s career as an EMT for Hennepin County Medical Center in
Minneapolis spanned over 25 years, not to mention his early years in the Minneapolis Police Reserves and medic roots at Olsen Midwest Ambulance Services.
Scott was happily married to JaVon Emily Broberg on September 14th, 1985 at Salem Covenant Church in Pennock, MN. Scott and JaVon shared 18 years of love and devoted attention to the partnership they shared as a couple and to the children they fostered as they started their family. The happiest single days of their married life were the adoptive dates for their sons Mathew and Michael. Scott was a very proud, hard-working father, friend and brother to everyone he met. As everyone knew he would give and do anything and everything he could for you, even to the degree that it might hurt himself.
Camping, fishing, hunting…and reading the daily paper…………. classic cars, pranks and entertaining guests were a passion for him. He loved time with his granddaughter, Macoy JaVon, as much as the countless memories they made raising Matt and Mike.
As a family we want to thank North Ridge Health and Rehab staff, The Hubert Humphrey Cancer Center staff, the countless physicians that oversaw both Scott and JaVon’s medical needs over the years, and YOU, the hundreds of friends, neighbors, and coworkers for the countless prayers as they bravely struggled together with illnesses.
Scott was preceded in death by his wife JaVon Vadman; parents Joseph and Kay Vadman; father-in-law Lowell Broberg and uncle Dale Johnson.
Survived by his sons Matthew Scott (Katie Richter) and Michael Matthew Vadman; granddaughter Macoy JaVon; siblings Shelley (Hugh) Byard, Sheryl (Mark) Howard, Shawn (Ann) Vadman, and Joe; nephews Neal (Michelle) Byard, Nicholas and Tony Howard; nieces Stephanie and Ashley Vadman; great nephew Logan Byard and great niece Cassidy Byard; sister-in-law Kandice (Rick) Shrader; and numerous cousins.

To all the Vadman kids - hugs from Dawn (Schmidt) Michels - we all grew up together through our family friendships with the 400 crew. Scott had a big heart, kind smile and a tremendous sense of humor. He meant the world to my little brother Jim, and I felt like he was one more brother to me. Peace, Love, Hugs and Prayers as you grieve his leaving the world, but you must know he is in heaven smiling down with your folks.

I remember Scott and his sister Shelley from many years ago. He was a nice guy. May he rest in peace. Sympathy to the family.
