Sean was one of my best friends. We served in the Navy together in Lemoore, CA from 2010-2013. Sean was an incredible friend, teammate, and person. I’ll always remember hanging out in the barracks, listening to music and grilling food. Sean was well liked by every single person he came across in the Navy. Everyone always wanted to be around him. Deployment overseas would not have been as easy to get through without him. His humor was contagious and I’ll miss joking around with him on the flight deck/flight line. Sean could bring people to tears with how hard he made us laugh. I’ll never forget him. Rest in peace my friend, I’ll think of you whenever a Grateful Dead song comes on. To Sean’s family, may you live with fond memories of Sean. You have my deepest condolences.

Sean-
You were a fine young man. Thank you for being so good to our daughter over the years. Dave and I thought the world of you. You and Dave had Boeing in common. Now you and he can look after each other until we are together again. Rest in peace. You spread kindness and laughter everywhere you went. We should all take a page out of your book.

I am incredibly sad to hear of the sudden passing of a dear friend to so many people. My condolences to all the family and friends of Sean Hoch.

I met Sean during the summer of 2016 when he joined Boeing St. Louis’ F/A-18 Final Assembly. I was the lucky one he was paired with on his first day so he could shadow someone. Later during that same year we were both asked to stand-up a night shift together. I hated being on nights with a young family at home, and Sean knew that. But he always had a way of making work fun. I definitely would not have lasted on nights as long as I did without him.

Sean and I worked together every day up until spring of 2021. We made a lot of great memories together while building many of the world’s greatest Fighter Jets during those 4 years. One memory that comes to mind was our alter ego’s we somehow created for each other. I’d always talk in this mix of a New England/Brooklyn accent saying things like, “Hey there Charles. How we doin’ today?” Sean never missing a beat, “RORGE!!! What’s on the agenda today?” or something like that in a voice similar to Shaggy from Scooby-Doo. He was my dude!

Sean was so charismatic, oftentimes telling stories or doing his antics and getting our team into those contagious belly laughs as your cheeks start to cramp from laughing so much. He was one of the first friends I shared the exciting news with that I was going to be a Dad (twice). My baby girl was born on April 2nd, just two days before his birthday. For someone who never had kids Sean always gave me great advice. We played sports and music trivia just about every night. He introduced me to the great Chris Stapleton when he was just an up and coming artist. We got to listen to John Kelly on the radio together as our St. Louis Blues won their first Stanley Cup, all while stressing out our inspectors as we celebrated mid install of an ejection seat we were hoisting into a cockpit. So many great memories!

Well, I love you Brochacho! I hope you’re catching up on lost time with your Mom. Hopefully you got some Grateful Dead or Stapleton playing in the background while baiting a hook and casting a line right about now. Or maybe even striking someone out looking with those nasty curves you used to reminisce about from your glory days.

“There’s good ships and there’s woodships. And there’s ships that sail the sea. But the best ships, are friendships, and may they always be.”

Rest easy Charles!

Your Friend,

Rorge

Even though I knew Sean for a short time while working with him, he always made me laugh. I found his humor and genuine warmth truly a rarity along with his willingness to help all his fellow coworkers.
You will be missed.

Sean was truly one of a kind. Before our Legion Baseball games, we would play 'Spin the Hoch' where he'd spin around in the circle of teammates and point at you, then you had to say something nice/motivational to another teammate. I always enjoyed seeing him throughout the years since those summers. His smile and antics will be missed! Sending my condolences to his family.
