I had the honor and privilege of working at Albertsons in fountain Valley with Sergio for a few years when I found out that he passed away I couldn’t believe it It was a hard day for me to accept that he was gone may his Family and loved ones be In a happy place forever i know it’ll take time to process this awful tragedy love you always Sergio

I had the privilege of working with him for a few years at Albertsons in Fountain Valley. When I first heard the news I was in denial , and my heart broke for his family and loved ones. He was the sweetest most kindest man that has ever crossed my path. I will miss him deeply.

I’m sorry for your loss, we worked together at Albertsons’s and Sergio was very nice co-worker always helping,I work in the floral department and one day he ask for flower and he was super happy and love the flowers for his girl, he will be miss big time.

He was a good man and he LOVED HIS MAMA so much never wanted to see her hurt I had the pleasure of hanging at their house he was the best host he will be missed

Sergio's Obituary

Sergio Rey Murillo, age 28, went home to meet our Lord September 28th, 2025.

Sergio was a good man to those who met him and a great man to those who had the luxury of knowing him. He was born and raised in the small town of Blythe, CA. He attended Golden West College then transferred to California State University, Long Beach where he graduated with a Bachelors of Science in Chemistry. He had a great passion for music and puzzle solving, which he satisfied with an escape room or two. He was a great support to his friends and family in any way possible as well. His life was tragically cut short but was one of adventure. His ventures will continue to live on in those who joined him in his endeavors. Sergio was a great friend and family man. He had a good heart and was always the first to help. He will be deeply missed but not forgotten.

Sergio is survived by his mother, Ana Lopez, sister, Olivia Murillo, longtime girlfriend, Abbi Cruz, father, Sergio Murillo, and cat, Ilah. Additionally survived by countless aunts, uncles, cousins & along with grandparents & great grandparents.

Services will be held in Blythe, CA at Frye Chapel & Mortuary.  Visitation will be Wednesday, October 22nd from 5-8:00 p.m.  Funeral service will be held on Thursday, October 23rd at 10:00 a.m.  Burial will follow after the funeral at Palo Verde Cemetery.
