SGM (ret) Stephen's Obituary

Funeral services with full Military Honors for SGM (ret) Stephen T. Howes, Sr. will be held at 10:00 a.m., Wednesday, June 13, 2012 at Hixson Brothers, Alexandria with Chaplain Randall Fish officiating, and reading of Taps by SGM (ret) Joey Billberry. Burial will be in Cotile Baptist Church Cemetery, Cotile Lake, LA, under the direction of Hixson Brothers, Alexandria.The family requests that visitation be observed Tuesday, June 12, 2012 at Hixson Brothers, Alexandria from 5:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. and will continue on Wednesday from 8:00 a.m. until time of service.SGM Stephen T. Howes, Sr., 62, of Ponchatoula passed away Sunday, June 10, 2012 at his residence. He was preceded in death by his parents, Troy V. and Margaret Cuevas Howes, both sets of grandparents and his godmother, Audrey Stegers.Those left to cherish his memory include his wife, Shirley and four children, sons, Stephen T. Howes, Jr. of Fort Worth, Texas, Jeremy L. Howes and wife, Dana of Wichita, Kansas, Andrew V. Howes of Ponchatoula, and step-daughter, Tara Tharpe of Pineville; nine grandchildren, Jordan, Miranda, Troy, Trey, Haley, Sean, Ashley, Colton and Maison; three sisters, Bobbie Kraemer and husband, Raymond of Hammond, Kathy Newcomb and husband, Mark of Denham Springs, Evie Lamonte and husband, Pete of Hammond; a host of many other relatives, neighbors and friends.A memorial service will also be conducted at a later date at Wesley Chapel United Methodist Church, Ponchatoula.Memorials may be made in Stephen's name to Mary Bird Perkins Cancer Center, Hammond, LA.
