Sharod A. “Sharoo” Tucker, Sr.

1984 - 2025

On May 1, 2025, Sharod Antwuan Tucker, Sr., 41, also known as “Sharoo” was tragically taken from his loved ones.

Sharod, son of Cynthia Wilkerson and Glenn Tucker, was born in Petersburg, VA, on March 8, 1984. He graduated from Petersburg High School Class of 2003. Sharod was an extremely hard worker, having gotten his first official job at the age of 14, and then progressing to Food Lion Distribution where he was very well known, Owen's and Minor, and roofing in Chicago being his latest gig. His stepfather Roderick Wilkerson began teaching Sharod how to work on cars at the age of 12, doing everything from audio to electrical work. He was well known for being the man to “get the job done”... Mr. Fix It, if you will.  If you needed something, he was there.

In 2009, Sharod met his love Jennifer Lennon, and in union they conceived their son, Sharod Tucker, Jr. He was a family man and felt complete with the extension of himself.

Sharod was an extremely energetic, silly, and confident being. He was simply overjoyed by having a good time, experiencing new things, spending time with his family, cooking delicious meals, and listening to music.  His favorite football team was the Minnesota Vikings, and he was enamored by Cadillacs. He had a beautiful love for animals, and fashion. He was always dressed to impress and took pride in his appearance.

Sharod was also a master negotiator. You genuinely thought you didn't want to partake in something until he came up to you with that big, youthful smile, and that convincing look in his eyes. He would make you laugh all night; he was the life of the party, and he knew it. He was a deep, emotional soul and not everyone understood him. It is vital to understand his personality, and quirks. To know him is to truly love him, but you had to know him to truly love him.

Sharod was preceded in death by Dennis Herndon, Fred Gates, Charles Gates, Sr., Robin Gates Parham, and Alfred L. Tucker, Sr.

With hearts rife with love he is left in remembrance by his mother Cynthia Wilkerson of Prince George, VA; father, Glenn Tucker of Richmond, VA; wonderful stepfather, Roderick Wilkerson of Dinwiddie, VA; son, Sharod Tucker, Jr. of Richmond, VA; love of his life, Jennifer Lennon of Richmond, V; siblings, Glenn Thorpe (Candace) of Charles City, VA, DeJuan Tucker (Nicole) of Hopewell, VA, Shaquan Mason (Carlesa) of Petersburg, VA and Princess Wilkerson of Prince George, VA; grandmothers, Dorothy Herndon of Petersburg, VA and Mildred Tucker Bland of Chester, VA; great aunts, Charlene Edmunds of Hopewell, VA and Shirley Irvin of Louisiana; aunts, Victoria Stuart of Petersburg, VA, Sheila Mercer of Petersburg, VA, Kim Tucker of Chester, VA, Alicia Healy (Joseph) and Karen Dorsey (David); uncles, Troy Mercer of North Carolina and Ronald Tucker (Tiffany); nieces, Shavaree Lee-Tucker (Mariah) of Prince George, VA and Journee Tucker of Hopewell, VA; nephews, Shavar Tucker of Hopewell, VA, Jayvion Davis of Petersburg, VA, Jayceon Tucker of Hopewell, VA, Cameron Thorpe, Jalen Thorpe and Aaron Thorpe; a host of cousins including devoted, Jamar Edmunds of Hopewell, VA and Kymar Edmunds (Kiara) of Hopewell, VA; devoted friend, Matthew Thompson of Hopewell, VA and many more.
