Sharon Lee Crow passed away November 24, 2025 in Salt Lake City, UT.Sharon was born December 12, 1939 in Kirkwood, MO, the first daughter to Rod and Lee Edson. The family moved to Corpus Christi, TX where she graduated from W.B. Ray High School in 1957. In 1962 she received her Bachelor’s degree in Education from Texas A&I in Kingsville, TX, and completed her Master’s in Special Education from the University of Houston in 1975.She married her first husband, Robert Pickens, in Corpus Christi in 1962 and they had two children, Paige and Kyle. She met and married her second husband, Kenneth Crow, in 1975 while living in Victoria, TX. Ken had two sons from a previous marriage, Jason and Gordon Crow, to whom Sharon was a loving stepmother.From Victoria, they moved to Austin and then Kyle, TX where she taught school for Wimberly ISD and enjoyed being part of a small community to raise her family. Sharon had a great love of teaching, specifically in special education for much of her career. She helped many children and was a champion for those who were abused or needed assistance to learn and fulfill their potential. Sharon was a founding member of St. Elizabeth’s Episcopal church in Buda, TX and helped build it into the congregation it is today.Sharon and Ken retired to Ruidoso, NM where they enjoyed the Southwestern aesthetic, history and lifestyle. She was social and active in bridge clubs for much of her life, loved to dance and listen to all kinds of music. She was a kind soul and good friend to many. Animals always had a special place in her heart and she took gentle care of the many pets that were part of her family over the years. She is missed by her surviving friends and family, but we rejoice in her new freedom after living with dementia for the last few years of her life.She is preceded in death by her parents, her husband Kenneth Crow and her favorite pets, Jake, Jessica and Leo.She is survived by her children Paige Stotts (Alan), Kyle Pickens (Ann), Jason Crow (Stephanie), Gordon Crow (Dana), sister Rodlyn Mazoch (James), grandchildren: Hayden Stotts, Erin Stotts, Charlie Pickens, Sadie Crow, Jackson Crow and Thatcher Crow, Annaleigh Crow, Landon Crow and nephew: Daniel Mazoch (Emma), and their children Reagan and Quinn.The family is appreciative to The Ridge Foothill and Canyon Hospice for their loving care of Sharon these past few years.A graveside memorial will be held at a future date at the Kyle, TX Cemetery.Please consider a donation to the Alzheimer’s Association, Lewy Body Dementia Association or the Humane Society as a gesture to honor her memory.
