Sherry Lynn Cyprian, age 58, of Lake Station, Indiana, passed away on December 29, 2025. Sherry was born on September 22, 1967, in Valparaiso, Indiana, where she spent her life surrounded by family, friends and a community she dearly loved. She worked as a dispatcher for Alert Alarm in Merrillville, Indiana, a role well-suited to her caring nature and dedication to helping others.
Sherry was known for her warm heart and welcoming spirit- no one she met was ever a stranger. She had a special love for her nieces and nephews, whom she cherished deeply. A true giver and never a taker, Sherry was always thinking of others, often showing her love through her famous baking- many would say she made the best cookies in the world. She found joy in simple pleasures, especially her love for Mickey Mouse and her trips to Florida, where she visited Walt Disney World, which brought her endless happiness.
Sherry will be remembered for her kindness, generosity, and the love she freely gave everyone she encountered. She leaves behind a legacy of warmth, compassion, and sweet memories that will be treasured by all who knew her.
Sherry is survived by her fiancée, Michael Belk; brother, Kenny (Barb) Cyprian; sister, Pam (Curtis) Oates; nieces, Joan Emerson, Valarie Emerson, and Michelle (Chris) Dagon; nephews, Michael (Ashley) Cyprian, Tim (Lacey) Cyprian; great nephews, Ethan Emerson, Noah Cyprian, Camdon Cyprian and Landon Cyprian; great nieces, Emily Cyprian, Alyssa Cyprian, Kaitlyn Cyprian and Isabella Cyprian; many loving cousins; friends, Misti Blankenship, Beth Ann Filipas Hennings and Darla Hill and many other family members and friends.
Sherry is preceded in death by her father, Ernest Cyprian Sr.; mother, Joan (nee Felton) Cyprian and brother, Ernest Cyprian Jr...

I am so sorry to hear about Sherry's passing. I worked with her at Alert Alarm, she trained me. It was such a joy to work with her. Super friendly! She made you feel like we knew each other for years. I really was hoping she would walk through them doors again one day.

I am so deeply saddened and heartbroken to hear of Sherry’s passing. I met her in 2010, and we became friends instantly. She was a bright light—kind, fun, and always thoughtful. I feel so grateful to have known her and will always remember how she made people feel valued.
After I moved to Alabama, we continued to talk, sometimes for hours. She was such a supportive presence in my life, and I will always cherish that. Every text ended with “I love you,” and she truly meant it. I will always be grateful for her friendship and the love she shared so freely. Love you Sherrebare!!!
