Shirley L. Herrmann, 88, of DeKalb, Illinois, died Tuesday, December 26, 2017, at DeKalb County Rehab and Nursing Center.
She was born August 9, 1929, in DeKalb, the daughter of Hugh and Mary (Sallee) Crooke. Shirley married Richard E. Herrmann on November 26, 1949, at St. Mary Catholic Church in DeKalb.
She is survived by her husband, Richard; daughter, Cindi (William) Kalal of Maple Park; four grandchildren, April (Donald) Cole, Jacob (Erika) Herrmann, Tom (Susie) Keen, Nathan (Erin) Herrmann; two great-grandchildren, Emma Jane Herrmann, Ellie Gabriela Herrmann; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by one daughter, Deborah Keen; one son, R. Michael Herrmann, one son-in-law, Tom Keen; two sisters, Barbara Jean Crooke, Edith (Ken) Conner; and two brothers, Leonard and George Crooke.
Services will be held at a later date.
