Sondra Reynolds-Moore Obituary

Sondra J. Reynolds-Moore, age 86 of Frankton, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, February 10, 2026 at her home following a brief illness. She was born December 28, 1939 in Jonesboro, the daughter of Lloyd and Elizabeth “Betty” (Gasper) Vardaman.  Sondra was a woman of remarkable dedication and strength. She built her career and strong work ethics in production, working at Owen’s Illinois for 16 years, SCM for 11 years, Franklin Electric, and retiring from Firestone after many years in 2004.. She was a devoted member of Main Street Wesleyan Church in Elwood, where her faith sustained and guided her throughout her life.

Sondra’s warmth and caring spirit touched everyone who knew her. She cherished time spent with her sister, line dancing in Alexandria, and bowling and playing Euchre with friends. Her creative hands brought beauty into the world through cross stitch, crochet, and knitting. The joy she found in her “Crazy 8’s” card club reflected her gift for building lasting friendships.  On March 7, 2007, Sondra married James E. Moore, and together they created cherished memories traveling with family. Her greatest joy came from being surrounded by those she loved. As a mother and grandmother, Sondra was devoted, nurturing, and endlessly supportive. She had a generous heart and an open hand, always ready to help anyone in need. Her family knew they could count on her unwavering love and encouragement in every moment.  Sondra’s legacy is one of kindness, compassion, and selfless love. She will be deeply missed by her family, friends, and all whose lives she touched with her caring spirit.

Sondra is survived by her husband, James E. Moore of Frankton; 7 children. John (Carolyn) Reynolds of Tennessee, Elizabeth Smith of Missouri, Cathy Denham of Bluffton, Mark Reynolds of Marion, Tina (Rick) Nelson of Ohio, Debbie Reynolds of Frankton, Donna (David) Herbert of Muncie; 3 siblings, Joan (John) Nave of Fairmount, Jim (Karen) Vardaman of Phoenix, AZ, and Kenny Craig of Idaho; special friend, Rebecca Milley; 14 grandchildren; numerous great-grandchildren; many great-great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.  Sondra is preceded in death by her parents; grandson, Tony Reynolds; and great-grandson, Tim Dewees.

I am so sorry to hear of Sondra's passing, she was a wonderful lady and a big influence in my learning to crochet and knit, something I still do to this day. I'm reminded of 2 Timothy 4: 7-8. Rest easy in the arms of God dear lady. Prayers for the family.
