Russell F. Webb, "Russ", of Neenah, age 72, passed away peacefully at his home, surrounded by his family, on Thursday, February 13, 2014, following a nine month battle with cancer. He was born April 6, 1941 in Neenah, son of the late Rae and Alta (Rice) Webb.Russ married Geraldine "Gerri" Jahnke in 1966. He retired from Gilbert Paper/Fox River Paper Co. after 40 years of employment. Russ then worked for eight years at Walmart where he enjoyed assembling bikes.He served in the US Army from 1959 to 1966. Russ enjoyed fishing, lawn work, swinging on the swing at the fire pit, and walking his dog, "Rocky". He enjoyed roller skating and bowling in his younger years.Survivors include his wife of 48 years, Gerri; two daughters: Connie Schaefer, Becky (John) Wiese; grandchildren: Jody Schaefer, Rebekah Wiese, Dalton Wiese, Jeffi Wiese; step-grandchildren: Matthew Wiese, Andrew Wiese and Michael Wiese.Russ was preceded in death by an infant son, Charles Albert Webb; his grandparents, Grace and Hilbert Webb; and a special aunt and uncle, Irving and Florence Biettler.A memorial service will be held at 6:00 PM on Tuesday, February 18, 2014, at Our Savior's Lutheran Church, 809 S. Commercial St., Neenah, with The Rev. Catherine A.K. Mode officiating. The visitation will be held at the church from 4:00 PM until the hour of service Military Rites will follow the service with the US Army and the Neenah/Menasha Veterans Honor Guard. . In lieu of flowers a memorial is being established in his name. The family would like to thank the Theda Care Oncology Dr.'s for all their care. Also, special thanks to Elizabeth Radtke, Diane and John Bentley and Katie Jahnke; and to his beautiful children and grandchildren for their loving care of their Dad and Grandpa.
