Dorothy Cap

Dorothy Cap, age 88, of Brick, NJ, formerly of Jersey City, NJ passed away on Thursday, June 2, 2022 in Rehoboth Beach, DE. Dot was born in Jersey City, NJ on February 10, 1934 daughter of the late Michael Petrysh and Christina (Babiak) Petrysh. She was a loving and devoted mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She was an independent woman who was the true matriarch of her family. She was a Yankees fan, amazing cook, loved going to the beach and enjoyed oil painting. She was a member of the Orthodox Christian Church of the Annunciation in Brick, NJ and was a former member of the Saints Peter & Paul Russian Orthodox Church in Bayonne, NJ. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Alexander Cap in 2014 and a sister, Helen Petrysh and her partner, William Clark. Dot is survived by her two sons, Michael Cap and his wife, Donna Sullivan of Rehoboth Beach, DE, Mark Cap and his wife, Danielle Gallina of Cedar Grove, NJ; two grandchildren, Jonathan Cap and his wife, Danielle La Pan of Branford, CT and Lauren Cap of Cedar Grove, NJ; a great granddaughter, Hailey Cap and two step grandchildren, Bruce Reed and his fiance, Linsey Carter of Concord, NC and Jacqueline Migliorisi and her husband, Christopher of Belford, NJ. A funeral service will be held at 10 AM on Friday, June 10, 2022 at the Orthodox Christian Church of the Annunciation, 360 Van Zile Rd., Brick, NJ 08724. Interment will follow at Graceland Memorial Park in Kenilworth, NJ.
