Stephen Bisher Obituary

Stephen G. Bisher, 83, of Bangor, PA, passed away suddenly at his residence on March 25, 2026.


Born on October 22, 1942, in East Stroudsburg, PA, he was the beloved son of the late Russell A. and Edith M. (Hawes) Bisher.


Stephen was a devoted husband to Diane (Houck) Bisher, with whom he would have celebrated 62 years of marriage this coming May. He is survived by his loving family, including his son Gregory Bisher, fiancée of Donna, his daughter Renee Keiser, wife of David, his sister Kathleen Pritchard, his sister-in-law Donna Bisher, and cherished granddaughters Abigail Ritzman, wife of Lucas, Emma Keiser, and Lindsey Bisher. Stephen was predeceased by his brothers Lee R. Bisher, Bruce Bisher, and Roy Bisher.


A proud veteran, Stephen served in the U.S. Air Force. He was a 1960 graduate of Bangor High School and earned his Associate's degree from Penn State Lehigh Valley. His career as an electrician at I.B.E.W. Local 102 in Easton, PA, spanned many years until his retirement in 2005.


Stephen was a member of the former Our Lady of Good Counsel Catholic Church in Bangor, PA.


He was also a former member of the Bangor Elks Lodge 1106 and a member of Trout Unlimited in Stroudsburg, PA. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, going to the YMCA, traveling, vacationing at Lake Ontario, and spending time with his pets, family, and granddaughters.


A Memorial Service will be held at 11 AM on Monday, April 6th at Gaffney Parsons Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Inc., 314 S. First St., Bangor, PA. Family and friends are invited to a Memorial Gathering from 10 AM to 11 AM on Monday, April 6th, at the funeral home. Burial will follow at Plainfield Cemetery in Plainfield Twp., PA.


In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Bangor Public Library, 39 S. Main Street, Bangor, PA 18013, or Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church, 404 Broadway, Bangor, PA 18013.
