Not sure what to say?

Steve was a true friend from the day we met. Always calm and quiet, but personable and friendly. Never a negative thought or bad word about anyone. After graduation we started Concord together, then on to Morgantown and WVU. So sorry that Steve will miss the upcoming 1970 class reunion. Thanks for mentioning Silver Springs Grocery, that was owned by my grandfather, later by my father. Rest in Peace faithful servant, you fought the good fight.

Charles graduated with Steve and I lived in Athens. I have stopped by CVS many times to talk with him. He was a wonderful Christian man. May God comfort your family.

We love Steve!!

Mrs. Shrewsberry, my sister, Tammie and I are very sorry for the loss of your husband. We have never met you, although we had met your husband a few summers back when we were visiting relatives in WV. He was gracious enough to show us and my husband around the farm.
Our mother, Ellen Huffman, sold the farm to you and Steve. Richard and I lived in the other house. We hadn’t been there since you all bought it. We really appreciate being able to look around. We spent quite a few...

I was Steve’s pharmacy clerk when he opened the first Athen’s Pharmacy. It was an absolute pleasure to serve with Steve. He is cherished.

I am so sorry for your loss. Steve was a wonderful person, awesome pharmacist. Praying that God will give you peace, strength in the coming days. I met Steve when we moved to Athens and he became the pharmacist that we had, plus the the bank.

I met Steve when I worked at CVS im Princeton. I just loved him. Always so kind and caring. I know he will have a special place in Heaven! Prayers for his family .

I started at Athens immediately after I got out of pharmacy school and Steve took me under his wing. He showed me how to be compassionate while training me to take over after he retired. This was important because that town had been his for 40 plus years. I don’t think he ever would have truly retired if it wasn’t for cancer. I don’t know how he did all those 12’s with no lunch for many years.

He was a dad figure to many. My favorite memory was cleaning up the pharmacy when I...

In loving memory of a wonderful person. We will love you and miss you always.
