Sue Hughes Elkanick

1925 - 2022

Sue Hughes Elkanick, 96, of Delray Beach, passed away peacefully July 30, 2022, just three weeks shy of her next birthday.

She was born to Sydney J. and Doris Hughes in St. Louis, Missouri. She moved to Delray Beach in 1959.

Sue is predeceased by her brother, John Hughes and by her husband of 54 years, Sandy Elkanick, both also of Delray Beach. Sue is survived by two children, daughter Martha F. Heald, of Walnut Creek, California, and son Larry Meltzer, of Tallahassee, Florida, four grandchildren, Joshua Heald, Abby Heald, Heather Holleman and Andrea Meltzer, and six great-grandchildren.

Sue’s sunny personality will be greatly missed by all who had the pleasure of knowing her.

A celebration of her life will be held privately by her family.
