Sue Gross

1941 - 2016

Sue Gross, 74, of Molus, Kentucky, went home to be with her husband on Saturday, December 3rd, 2016. She was born to William and Fannie Blanton on December 28th, 1941 in Elcomb, KY. She was a loving mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother who lived her entire life in Harlan County.

 

She was preceded in death by her loving husband, Rev. Lee Roy Gross; parents William Blanton and Fannie Taylor Blanton; 4 brothers, Virgil Blanton, George Blanton, Ralph Blanton, and Richard Blanton; 4 sisters, Blanche Blanton, Wilma Blanton, Ruth Alice Blanton, and Angaline Blanton; 5 sons, Roy Gross, Bill Gross, Tony Gross, Farmer Gross and Grant Gross; and 1 daughter, Mary Lynn Blanton.

 

She is survived by 6 daughters, Elizabeth Davenport (Phillip), Drenda Crider (Ken), Cinda Lou Gross, Brenda Saylor, Cathy Robertson (Jerry), Wila Lea Gross; 2 sons, William Gross, and James "Sam" Blanton; 3 brothers, Estle Lee Blanton (Patsy), Billy Ray Blanton (Hester), and James Monroe Blanton (Peggy); 3 sisters, Nell Katherine Mills, Willie Mae Asher (Bud), and Mary Ann Walters (Ray).

 

Also surviving are a host of friends, nieces, nephews, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren

 

Visitation will be Monday, December 5th, from 5PM to 8PM in the chapel of Harlan Funeral Home. Funeral Services will be Tuesday, December 6th, at 1:00PM in the chapel of Harlan Funeral Home with the Reverend Freeman Clark officiating. Burial will follow at Resthaven Cemetery. Grandsons and nephews will serve as pallbearers.
