Suzanne Huffman Obituary

HUFFMAN, Suzanne-Passed with peace and grace on April 6, with her loving husband Tom at her side. Survived by her brother, Wally Nelson (Donnie), sister Cyndy Whetter, daughter Mary Howes (Ken), son Tom Huffman (Shelah), daughter Jill Hilstad (Cameron), son Mike Huffman (Tiffany) and eleven grandchildren. Predeceased by her brother Donny Nelson and daughter Elizabeth Huffman.

Susie was born in Seattle Washington in 1946. She moved frequently, but always considered Seattle her home. She graduated from Rainier Beach High School. After marrying the love of her life, Tom, in 1967, she threw her energies into raising their children. She was actively involved in her parish, St. Pius X and later worked there running a before and after school program. She and Tom retired in 1999 and moved to Camano Island where they made new friends and became involved in St. Cecilia parish. They had many travel adventures together, but continued to put family first and enjoyed many celebrations and events with their children and grandchildren. She had many friends and loved being with people. She will always be remembered for her loving acceptance of others, sense of humor and beautiful smile. Everyone who knew Susie, loved her.

A funeral mass will be held at St. Cecilia Catholic Church, 26900 78th Ave. N. W.
Stanwood, on April 18 at 2pm, reception following. In lieu of flowers the family would appreciate donations made in her honor to Warm Beach Senior Community or Evergreen Health hospice care.

She leaves us rich in memories and enduring love.

We will all miss Sue. She was a very special person to all of us. It's hard to express all the thoughts and memories I have of Sue. I met Sue while attending Rainier Beach High School. Her husband Tom and I have been friends since attending Emerson Grade School. I was the best man at their wedding in 1967. It's been a long and wonderful time being friends with Sue and her family. My love and support will always be here for you.

So saddened to hear of Suzanne's passing. Attending Rainier Beach with her, I knew her as a sweet spirit, engaging her classmates with kindness and acceptance. She will be truly missed by all of us who called her a friend..as well as wife, mom and grandmother. Deepest sympathies. Suzanne (moser) Jackson

Although I hadn't seen Sue in many years, I will never forget her big contagious smile and warm welcoming spirit. Sue was like a second mom to me during my teen years when I spent much of my free time with Jill. I always felt welcome around Sue and she will be remembered with great love. I am glad she is finally out of pain and at peace with her Lord.
