Tanya Hawks Obituary
Mrs. Tanya Alicia Hawks, age 62 of Autumn View, Blairsville, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, January 14, 2026, in the N.E. GA Medical Center following a brief illness. Mrs. Hawks was born on February 27, 1963, in Cordele, GA, the daughter of Shirley Leatherwood Kirkland and the late Edward Kirkland. Tanya and her husband owned and operated High Country Tire and Wheel in Blairsville. She was a loving wife, mother, and sister. She loved animals, riding in her Jeep, and going to the beach. Tanya was a member of First Baptist Church of Blairsville.
Surviving Mrs. Hawks are her loving family and best friend of forty years, Alan Hawks of Blairsville, one daughter and son-in-law, Ashleigh and Mitchell Hughes of San Diego, CA, one brother and sister-in-law, Phillip and Susan Kirkland of Kennesaw, GA, and many other friends and relatives.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, January 17, 2026, at 2:00 pm at the Mountain View Chapel with Rev. Ricky Powell officiating. Special music will be presented by Hal Medlin. The following gentlemen will serve as pallbearers: Josh Auton, Wayne Auton, Michael Jordan, and Chris Frazier. Interment will follow in the Meadow View Cemetery. The family will meet with friends at the funeral home on Saturday from 12-2:00 pm.

SUCH a sweet, vibrant, and godly woman. Roger and I are so sorry that we learned about Tanya's passing several weeks later. Despite being a diehard dog person, Tanya knew how much I love cats; she gave me many lovely cat-themed gift over the years. Praise God that all is well with her soul; she's with her Lord and Savior!

Tanya was the sweetest lady, The first time I met her she treated me as she knew me a lifetime, with love and a hug. She was truly a remarkable lady. I remember telling D after we left that she was like an angel in a room, you could see her love for Allan and her family, I wish the world loved like her, it would’ve a better place. He responded she is a good one for sure. If you knew D Garrett he didn’t give compliments easily. I am sending Allan and the family prayers and much love for today and the months to come.

I met Tanya at Glow Salon, I was there when Kristi did her hair and found Tanya a very sweet lovely lady, humble and so kind!!! i was shocked to hear the news and her wonderful personality and kindness!! shes easy to love!! We were so very sorry to hear of the loss of Tanya. She was one of the most kind and sweetest souls I have ever me. Always had a smile and her puppy dog riding in her jeep. Tanya was one of those special individuals that made you feel welcome and loved just by smiling at you. I have watched Tanya deal with difficult situations with a grace and kindness that many will never possess. Sweet, Gentle, Kind, and Caring, I will miss visiting with Tanya when I get my tires changed, rotated, and oil changed.
