Terrie Ann James

1947 - 2023

Terrie Ann (Cody) James, age 75, was born November 9, 1947 in Bakersfield, CA to Walter and Vastine (Winters) Cody. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Benny James; brother, Clovis Cody and sisters, Aline (Cody) Montgomery, Loretta (Cody) Miller and Lawanda (Cody) Wheeler.

 

Terrie married the love of her life, Benny James on October 2, 1963 in Felker, OK. She was a lifelong resident of the Valliant area and was a member of the Felker Freewill Baptist Church for many years. Terrie enjoyed riding around in the hills with the outlaw, Benny James and their grandchildren, shooting from the back of the pickup. She enjoyed camping, deer hunting, fishing, and cutting the grandkid’s hair. Terrie loved spending time with the grandkids and great grandkids, but most importantly she like lecturing Benny. She will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.

 

Terrie is survived by her son, Shannon James and wife, Melissa of Houston, TX; daughter; Amanda Morehead and husband, Barry of Valliant, OK; grandchildren, Bradley Morehead, Brayden Morehead, Tanner James and Taylor James; 3 great grandchildren; brother, Lyn Cody of Millerton, OK; along with a host of other friends, family and loved ones.
