Theodore “Ted” Michael Adam Plevyak, 77, of Manchester, Missouri, baptized into the hope of Christ’s resurrection on Saturday, September 21, 2024.
Ted was born June 19, 1947 in Warren, Ohio, the son of Adam W. Plevyak and Helen J. Plevyak (nee Szymczak,) who both preceded him in death, and was brother to the late Roger John (Kathy) Plevyak.
Ted graduated from Warren G. Harding High School in 1965 and continued his education at Central Missouri State University in Warrensburg, Missouri where he met the love of his life, wife of more than 54 years, and mother of his three children, Shirley Ann Plevyak (nee Dependahl.)
He is survived by his wife Shirley, his three children Adam (Joyce) Plevyak, Emily (James) Hammon, Jill Plevyak, and his grandson Mason J. Plevyak. His love for and devotion to Shirley was expressed in many ways, including his poetry. They married on October 28, 1969.
Ted found enjoyment in learning little known facts, found amusement in ironies, and if there was one thing Ted brought to this world daily, it was his sense of humor. Ted’s ability to bring a smile remained with him and with those who loved him for literally all of his days.
Ted and Shirley’s lives of hard work made their love of travel possible, sharing adventures in all corners of the U.S., Canada, and many parts of Europe. Their affection and passion for the open road was passed to their children, grandchild Mason, and to friends.
Ted’s love of maintaining and beautifying the family home with a beautiful yard full of flowers, fruit trees, planting vegetables began at a young age. His father and mother kept their storied greenhouse throughout Ted’s childhood in Warren. It was only later in life that he grew to greatly appreciate and find great joy in the birds, chipmunks, and other wildlife that might have otherwise frustrated the average gardener.
Ted will be missed and will always be remembered by those who loved him.

I remember when you trained me for my new job many years ago. You always were very kind, supportive and above all funny making light of situations. I miss you Ted.

I am so sorry to hear of Ted's passing. Henry sent me his obit. Dean and Ted were such good friends, lasting many decades. I'm sure there are lots of good times being revisited in heaven. May the good Lord keep and bless your family at this difficult time.
