Thomas Boutwell Obituary
Thomas Ray Boutwell, age 94, formerly of Troy, died Wednesday, July 18, 2018 at his daughters residence in Suwanee, GA. Funeral arrangements for Mr. Boutwell will be held Monday, July 23, 2018 at 11:00 AM at the Chapel of Dillard Funeral Home in Troy, Al. Visitation will be held on Sunday, July 22 from 4-6 PM at Dillard Funeral Home in Troy. Mr. Boutwell will lie-in-state one hour prior to the funeral service. Burial will follow at Green Hills Memorial Cemetery.
Mr. Boutwell is survived by 1 son, Thomas Ray Boutwell Jr.; 1 daughter: Tara Boutwell Irvin; 4 grandchildren: Brittany Hatcher (Chris), Taryn Wellham (Charlie), Thomas Ray Boutwell III (Dana) and Tamara Irvin; 3 great-grandchildren: Mason Hatcher, Charles Jackson Wellham, and Emma Roy Hatcher; 2 sisters: Louise Reeves amd Ruby Andrews. 1 Sister-In-Law: Sue Ann Boutwell.
He is preceded in death by his wife: Dorothy "Dot" Ferguson Boutwell, Parents: James and Blanche Boutwell, and his brothers: Lamar Boutwell and Jerry Boutwell.

Last time I saw Mr. and Mrs. Boutwell they were driving to Tara's home in ATL. I was also on my way either to or from my home in ATL and we just happened to be at the same gas station at the same time and I spoke with him and Mrs. Dot as we pumped gas. This was most likely in the late 80's or early 90's. Mr. Boutwell was Principle of Chavala High School, Mrs. Boutwell was Secretary and Tara was a fellow student. I guess that was like 1972-74. So sorry to see this news today. RIP Mr. Boutwell. Praying for comfort for the family.
