Thomas's Obituary

Thomas Alton Godfrey, 79, passed away May 17th, 2014 in Del Rio, Texas. His home was the town of Fort Clark Springs, Brackettville, Texas. Thomas is predeceased by his brother, Billy Godfrey, who died in Vietnam. He is survived by his brother Charles Godfrey who still lives in their hometown of Calhoun, Georgia. Thomas is survived by his loving wife Dovie Ellen Godfrey with whom he was married 53 years. He is also survived by his four children; Randy Stoner, Steve Stoner, Sheryl Stoner and Janice Ash. Additionally, he is survived by his nine grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren. Thomas proudly served in the Air Force for 20 years traveling around the world to places like the Philippines, Japan, Turkey, and Alaska. Thomas loved to socialize and always liked a little bit of excitement so he found a love for the casino and made many friends. He also thoroughly enjoyed being with his family and telling stories of his days in the military and all of the interesting people he met along the way. He will dearly be missed by his family, friends and his church family-First United Methodist Church. Full military honors will be presented at a Memorial service on Sunday, 3:00P.M, June 8th , 2014 at the First United Methodist Church at 205 James Street in Brackettville, Texas.
