PLEASE CLICK HERE TO WATCH THOMAS' MASS OF CHRISTIAN BURIAL
Thomas J. Lally, 83, of Marco Island, Florida, passed away peacefully with his loving family by his side Wednesday, December 9, 2020 at the home of his son, Michael, in Cumberland, RI. He was the beloved husband of Cynthia (Chirico) Lally and was a strong, positive role model for his sons and grandchildren. Tom was always willing to listen and share his thoughts with many real-world stories that were told with a big smile and his great sense of humor. Tom and Cynthia were happily married for a loving, wonderful 58 years! Born in Boston, MA, he was the son of the late Joseph and Lillian (Higgins) Lally and grew up in Westwood, MA. He graduated from Westwood HS and received a BS degree from Northeastern University. He was a 1st Lieutenant Signal Corps Army veteran serving with distinction in Germany from 1961-64. After conducting a military maneuver in Germany involving the transportation of over 10,000 troops from around the world Tom was honored with a military commendation for his service. Tom then returned home and worked over the next 31 years to grow his Allstate insurance agency in Enfield, CT. Tom and Cynthia simultaneously built, rented and sold 15 homes on the island of Martha’s Vineyard.
Besides his wife, he is survived by his children, Michael and Thomas Lally, his sister, Ann Rau, and five grandchildren, Christopher, Jessica, Caitlin, Erin, and Shannon. For 47 years, Tom loved spending summers boating, fishing and golfing with his family at the beach cottage in Old Lyme Shores, CT. During the winter months Tom and Cynthia lived at Hideaway Beach Club in Marco Island, FL with many close, wonderful friends.
A private Mass of Christian burial will be video live streamed on Monday, December 14th at 10 AM in Saint John Vianney Church, 3587 Diamond Hill Road, Cumberland, RI.
The burial will be private. Visiting hours are respectfully omitted.
In lieu of flowers, kindly mail donations in Tom’s memory to Hope Health Hospice, 1085 North Main Street, Providence, RI 02904 or call (401) 415-4206.

We have many fond memories of Tom. Marty especially remembers a fishing trip at Old Lyme that he ruined by becoming so seasick that Tom had to turn around and come back to shore. Tom was always such a fun and generous guy and we will always remember the great times we all had together.
With love and affection, Gail and Marty

I had the benefit of knowing Tom since the mid 70’s, having met him and Cindy in our Hideaway Beach development on Marco Island. He was a pleasant, clever, and engaging friend, and a true gentleman. He will be missed by me and by our entire community.
