Tonawanda Charmaine Korff, 63, was born on February 27, 1962, in Aliquippa, PA to the late Sylvester and Geraldine Washington. Her parents instilled core values in her that contributed to her parenting and leadership style. She was an energetic person, full of love and compassion, who enjoyed spending time with family. Tonawanda took her eternal rest on Sunday, September 7, 2025, surrounded by her children.
Tonawanda was a woman of faith, a devoted prayer warrior, and servant leader. She was a faithful member of the Church in the Round where she served on the decorating committee, took part in the WE 12, volunteered with the outreach team, and sang in the choir. She found joy in her church work and considered the members of her church to be an extension of her family. Often fielding phone calls, making meals, or speaking encouragement into a stranger.
Tonawanda had a zeal for life and was a hard worker. Her work history included positions with the Beaver County Head Start and providing customer service as a Bank teller at Sky Bank. She also spent time working with the Allegheny Valley school district as a direct care worker. In her
spare time, Tonawanda enjoyed sewing, singing karaoke, and crafting. She loved her Pittsburgh Steelers like she loved her family, faithfully and unconditionally.
She leaves to cherish her memory, her children, son James (Blair -Alexandria) Korff, daughter Aleece Bowser, Sean (Elise) Korff, daughter Ashley (Bryant) Reid, her brother Sylvester (Deborah)Washington, brother Mark Washington, sister Tamarah, Washington, sister Felicia Mason, sister Anne Freeman, sister Felita Iverson, sister Andrea Fields and dear friends James Korff (ex-husband), Pastor Gayle Cobb, Sheila Alfred, Leonard Lawson. Adopted sons Victor Bowser, Damian Perminter, Jermaine Jolly Sr. She also leaves a whole host of nieces, cousins, grandchildren and great grandchildren, family, and friends.
