I love you MOM
Janette Gray
November 01, 2025 | Houston, TX | Daughter
Vallejo Elaine Gray, 81, of South Jordan, Utah, passed away peacefully on October 27, 2025, following heart and kidney complications. Born on October 11, 1944, in Logan, Utah, to Lowell James and Delsa Barrus Campbell, Vallejo grew up in a large and loving family that nurtured her creativity, faith, and sense of devotion to others.
On November 4, 1966, she married the love of her life, Charles Gray. Together they built a life centered on service, family, laughter, and faith. Vallejo was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother who found deep joy in family gatherings and in creating a warm, welcoming home. Her children—Janette, Paulette (States), Charles Lee (stillborn), Joseph, and Zina (Lund) — were her pride and joy, and she was a steady source of love and encouragement to each of them.
Vallejo’s hands were rarely still. Whether gardening, quilting intricate patterns, painting with soft strokes of oil, or lending her creativity to the printing industry where she worked in binding, she found beauty in the details of everyday life. She was playful and curious, never losing her sense of wonder, and she carried a sweetness that drew others near. She loved the beach, where she found serenity in the rhythm of the waves, and she traveled widely—to Africa, England, Scotland, Belgium, and France—gathering memories that brought her joy.
Vallejo’s life reflected her deep commitment to her faith and church community. She served faithfully in the Oquirrh Mountain Temple, as ward homemaking leader in the Relief Society, ward camp director, nursery leader alongside her husband, and as emergency preparedness coordinator alongside her husband. She was recognized early in life with the Golden Gleaner award from the Young Women Mutual Improvement Association, a testament to her lifelong spirit of service and dedication.
Vallejo is survived by her loving husband, Charles; her children; and her siblings Bevonne (Crookston), Larron, Darrell, Darius, Dalan, and Donald Campbell. She was preceded in death by her parents and her brother, Conley B. Campbell.
Vallejo will be remembered for her gentle spirit, her boundless creativity, and the love she poured into everyone she met.
“Forever, for always, no matter what.”
