Violet Hartness Roberson

1925 - 2025

   Mrs. Violet Hartness Roberson, age 88 of Murphy Hwy, Blairsville, GA, passed away peacefully on Friday, December 19, 2025, at her home surrounded by her family following an extended illness.  Mrs. Roberson was born on January 29, 1925, in Monroe, TN, the daughter of the late Vernon Long Hartness and the late Nina Sneed Roberson.  She was a loving and caring mother, grandmother, great grandmother and great great grandmother.  She enjoyed spending time with her family, sewing, crafting and especially telling everyone about Jesus.  Violet had a passion for gardening, bowling, and fishing.  Mrs. Roberson was preceded in death by her parents, brothers; Junior Hartness, Jack Wade, Jean Hartness, sisters; Betty Jo, Marie, Olamae, Martha and daughters, Darlene Clark, and Belinda Hughes.  Violet was a member of the Zion Hill Baptist Church.

   Surviving Mrs. Roberson are one son; Michael Roberson of Blairsville, GA, one daughter and son-in-law, Pamela and Herbert Brown of Blairsville, GA, one step son, Steve Roberson of Blairsville, GA, one step daughter, Stacey Emerson, eight grandchildren; Christie, Josh, Jennifer, Kimberly, Elizabeth, Mark, Latasha, and Austin, many great grandchildren and great great grandchildren as well as other relatives and friends also survive.

   Funeral Services will be held on Tuesday, December 23, 2025, at 1:00 pm from the Mountain View Chapel with Rev. Luther Thomas officiating.  The following gentlemen will serve as pallbearers; Austin Brown, Brandon Farr, Billy Farr, Matthew Vaugh, Ronnie Mashburn, and Cory Blair.  Interment will follow in the Zion Hill Baptist Church Cemetery.  The family will meet with friends on Monday, December 22, 2025, from 6-8:00 pm at the funeral home.  Flowers are accepted; however, memorials may be made to help defray expenses.
