Virgil Keith Fardo Obituary





Virgil Keith Fardo,73, of Butler, KY, passed away on Friday, September 12, 2014, at the Hospice of St. Elizabeth Health Care in Edgewood. Born in Butler, KY, on August 11, 1941, he was the son of the late Kenneth and Garnet Kyle Shoemaker Fardo. A 1959 graduate of Butler High School, Keith married Patricia Trankler on August 8, 1959, and together they raised four children. Keith operated the Farmer?s Market in Butler for 25 years, while simultaneously working for Consolidated Freightways for 14 years and farming. He attended the Assembly of God of Alexandria, served as a board member of the Farmers Insurance Company in Falmouth, as well as a former board member of the Butler Rest Home. He was a member of the Butler Lions Club, the Pendleton County Sportsman Club, and the Gideons International. He loved to spend time with family and friends and to hunt grouse and turkey.
In addition to his wife of 55 years, Patricia Fardo, he is survived by four children: Roger Fardo of Brooksville, KY, Dan Fardo of Falmouth, KY, Jason Fardo of San Diego, CA, and Julie Fardo Wardlow of Flemingsburg, KY; 7 grandchildren; 7 great grandchildren; his only sister, Donna Baker of Butler, KY; and a host of extended family and friends.
The funeral service will be held at 1 pm on Wednesday, September 17, 2014, at the Second Twelve Mile Baptist Church, 5793 Hwy 154, Butler, KY 41006, with Tony Spence officiating. Special music will be shared by Jacob Spence. The visitation will be from 10-1 pm on Wednesday preceding the service at the church. Interment will take place in the Peach Grove Cemetery, Pendleton County. Memorials are suggested to the charity of your choice.
