Virginia Borough Obituary

Virginia Lee Borough “Ginny”, of Boca Raton, Florida, passed away peacefully on July 16, 2025 at the age of 96.  She was born in Grand Rapids, Michigan, to Lt. Col. Gerald W. and Kathleen (Brothers) O’Boyle and raised in Cassopolis, Michigan.  Ginny graduated from Nazareth Academy in Kalamazoo, Michigan and received her bachelor’s degree in education from Western Michigan University in 1950.  After graduating, she worked as a first-grade teacher in Niles, Michigan.  Ginny met Bill Borough in a sailing class on Diamond Lake, Michigan and they were married on June 16th, 1951.  They raised four daughters, dividing their time between South Bend, Indiana and Diamond Lake, Michigan.  Bill and Ginny relocated to Deerfield Beach, Florida in 1978 after Bill retired from Bendix Corp.

Virginia was a gifted artist working with pastels and watercolor.  She loved being in nature and taking walks.  She and her husband remained avid sailors and enjoyed traveling to many parts of the world.  Ginny will be remembered for her kindness to all and the love and support she gave to her family and friends.

She is preceded in death by her husband, William “Bill” Borough and their beloved daughter Helen Borough.  She is survived by her daughters Mary Borough of West Palm Beach, Alice (Art) Ahrens of Indian Harbour Beach, Carol Perez of Delray Beach; grandchildren Kent Squiers, Sarah Ahrens, Duke Ahrens, Francisco Perez, Melisa Perez; great-granddaughter Dylan Mick; and several nieces and nephews.

Ginny’s life will be honored by the family in a private celebration at a later date.
