Virginia S. Hargrove, 74, died Friday, January 2, 2026. Born in the Philippines, she was a longtime Hampton resident. Throughout her career, Virginia worked many jobs, but for 40 years as Supervisor of Food Service at the Eagle Room. She gave love and respect to everyone.
Virginia loved serving people. Her hobbies were cooking, card games, shopping, parties, watching football, and watching Lifetime movies. She loved her family, her husband, Bullay; daughter, Liza; son, Chris; and granddaughter, Lauren. She will also be missed by her family in the Philippines: two brothers, Alexander Serna and Marlon Serna and two sisters, Maricha Mocorro and Raquel Castro; as well as her siblings here in the United States, Willard Breaux, Avery Breaux, Adrain Breaux, Andre Breaux, Darrick Breaux, and Derrick Breaux, Salena Hargrove, and Teresa Ratliff.
She loved God, the Father, and gave to charities and money to the homeless. She kept her faith through the good, the bad, and the ugly, and always served the Lord.
The family will receive friends from 10-11 AM, Friday, January 30, 2026, at R. Hayden Smith Funeral Home with a funeral service beginning at 11AM. Interment will take place at 1pm in the Albert G. Horton, Jr. State Veterans Cemetery in Suffolk. The funeral service will be live streamed on the funeral home Facebook page click here.
