Walter Stout, Jr. Obituary

Walter “Bob” Stout, Jr.
1944 – 2025

Walter “Bob” Stout, Jr., 80, of Clermont, Florida, passed away on August 10, 2025.

A proud U.S. Navy Veteran, Bob served with honor and was especially proud of his time in the submarine service. He was an active and proud member of the Submarine Veterans Club, where he not only enjoyed the camaraderie of fellow submariners but also took great pride in participating in charity work through the club — always eager to give back to his community.

After his military service, Bob dedicated many years to the United States Postal Service before retiring. In retirement, he embraced every moment of life whether it was out on the lake fishing, hitting the trails on his bike, or racing to the finish line in local 5Ks with Sommer Sports. He took particular pride in taking first place in his age category and had the medals to prove it!

Bob was a devoted husband to his beloved wife of 62 years, Helen Elaine Stout. Together, they built a beautiful life full of laughter, love, and family memories. He was a cherished father to Cheryl Viadero (Angel), Bobby Stout, and Shane Stout (Annie); a proud grandfather to Christina Valdez (Ralph), Christopher Viadero (Ashley), Jaclyn Viadero, Nicole Stout, and Karli Howell (Chris); and a joyful great-grandfather to Brandon, Addison, Addy, Trace, and Eloise.

Anyone who knew Bob knew how much he loved a good fishing story especially if it was his own! He was always ready to share his best fishing tips and point out where the “big one” could be found. He loved his family, his hobbies, and chocolate ice cream.

He was a dedicated husband, father, and grandfather—an avid runner, biker, and fisherman—who lived life fully and with heart. His family’s love and memories will keep his spirit alive every day.

He’s off to his next great adventure in heaven — medals shining, running shoes laced, fishing pole in hand, already reeling in the biggest bass and winning his age group in every 5K up there.

We live in Bob's neighborhood and saw him regularly whether it was a wave in passing or telling us about his biking or race adventures. Prayers to the loved ones he has here on Earth. He was a great man.
