Wendell Plumhoff Obituary

Wendell Otto Plumhoff was born April 7, 1932, in Belgrade, Minnesota, the son of Theodore and Amy (Christiansen) Plumhoff. He grew up and attended school in Belgrade. Wendell served in the United States Army as a Special Forces Paratrooper during the Korean War from 1952 to 1954. On June 25, 1956, Wendell was united in marriage to Agnes Helen Kirchner in Spring Hill, Minnesota. This union was blessed with more than 58 years of marriage, four children, twelve grandchildren, and ten great-grandchildren. After their marriage, they moved to Benson and Wendell worked at Agralite as a lineman for 34 years. He was very active with St. Francis Catholic Church. Among the things Wendell enjoyed were woodworking, hunting, fishing, cards (weekly games with buddies), golf, darts with grandkids, gardening, puzzling, and Twins baseball games. He loved bowling, to the extent that he bowled three leagues a week, and was still active with the sport. He enjoyed winding down his week listening to the Fun Time Polka Show.

Wendell died peacefully, surrounded by his family, on Sunday, July 20, 2014, at his home in Benson, Minnesota. He attained the age of 82 years, 3 months, and 13 days.

Wendell is survived by his wife, Agnes Plumhoff of Benson; children: Debra (Mike) Neu of Canton, MI, Jean (Jerry) Dahnke of Lafayette, IN, Sherry (Rick) Denzer of Benson, Mark (Michele) Plumhoff of Benson; grandchildren: Jonathon, Christina, Angela, Brent, Kim, David, Lacie, Ryan, Bradley, Cassi, Courtnee, and Matthew; great-grandchildren: Keyanna, Noah, Mya, Madison, Titus, Eli, Bentley, Hannah, Tucker, and Chance; sister, Barb Plumhoff of St. Paul; and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
