Mr Robson, can't seem to call him Bill even after 50 years, was one of a kind. I was one of the fortunate ones to have him as a 6th grade teacher, Carroll Junior High band director and MHS ban director. We knew each other well, especially once he realized that he and my Uncle Bill Gaydos played together at the Twin Coaches for a few years. He did not take any bs from anyone and many a smart mouth were dismissed for the day. But, they were always back the next band practice. He was a very understanding soul as he knew that Rod and I (especially me) were never going to be All American football players , or professional musicians , so he bent the rules and allowed us to participate in band and football. IF, we marched in all the parades and participated in his jazz/dance band.. which we always did with a smile, sometimes. He was my hero of heroes when one glorious Memorial Day, he loaned Rod and I his flashy blue convertible to tour South Park, all day. RIP Bill and with any luck you can make it as one of Gabriel's trumpeters. My condolences to Twila, Rod and Tom.

My family and I have many many fond memories of Bill, Betty and the gang at all the celebrations with my family growing up on Laken Street. My earliest memory was listening to Bill give trumpet lessons to students in his basement. I could hear him play from our home across the street! Thanks Bill for all the laughs and good times growing up! You are joining the souls of many loved ones! Rest in peace.
