William Storey, Jr. Obituary

William Storey, Jr., 83, of Middletown, DE, formerly of Rahway, NJ, passed away peacefully, Tuesday, February 16, 2016 surrounded by his loving family.

Born March 2, 1932 in Perth Amboy, NJ to the late William and Lillian (Walker) Storey. William is an Army veteran of the Korean War; he was stationed in Germany. He married Joyce Urquhart in 1952. He lived the majority of his life in Rahway, NJ, moved to East Stroudsburg, PA for several years, then moved to Middletown, DE in 2004. William worked for AAA Trucking for 13 years and for Merck as a Chauffer retiring after 37 years. He was a member of the Buffalo Soldiers, and American Legion Post 25 where he was Sergeant at Arms.

William liked to travel, was a New York Giants fan and had an interest in photography.

He was preceded in death by his parents; sisters, Beverly Carmichael and June Storey; brothers, Dennis Storey, Roger Storey, and Russell Storey.

William is survived by his wife of 63 years Joyce Storey; his son William Storey III of Carteret, NJ, his daughter, Patricia Storey of Brooklyn, NY, son Darrel Storey, son Kevin Storey, daughter Karen Pickett, son, Shawn (Nichole) Storey of Woolwich, NJ, and son David (Andrea) Storey of Accokeek, Md; 6 grandchildren, Joe (Lashema) Pickett, Casey Probus, DJ (Jill) Probus, Cameron Storey, Nicholas Storey, and Matthew Joyiens; 4 Great-Grandchildren, Louis Pickett, Jordan Pickett, Amaia Probus, and Savannah Probus, Brother Gene Storey of Rahway, NJ, Sister Geraldine Forbes of Rahway, NJ, Sister Doris Rossi of Metuchen, NJ, and Sister Janice Martin of Lauderhill, FL as well as very close friends, Muriel Middletown of Gilford, NH, Michael and Marie Corvino of Middletown, DE, John Martin of Elizabeth, NJ, and Bob Jackson of Middletown, DE.

Relatives and Friends are invited to attend Funeral Services on Thursday, February 25 at 12 Noon at Daniels & Hutchison Funeral Home, 212 N. Broad Street, Middletown, DE. Viewing will be from 11am – 12 pm. Interment with Military Honors will follow at Delaware Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Bear, DE.
