Mr. Willie Dudley Shaw Sr., age 73 departed this life at his residence in Lynchburg, Virginia on the break of Tuesday, April 4, 2017. Willie was born on December 18th, 1943 to Fannie Powell Shaw and Willie Thorton Shaw in Lynchburg, VA where he lived his life.
He worked for over 40 years as a butcher/meat cutter in various businesses throughout Lynchburg and its surrounding counties.
Willie is survived by seven children, Charles Dudley Shaw of Chesapeake, VA, Latrice Thorpe, Willie Shaw Jr. (Cathy) all of Lynchburg, VA, Michael Shaw of Heilbronn, Germany, Katina Shaw of Lynchburg, VA, Derwina Hamlet of Rustburg, VA and Ebony Shaw of Washington, D.C.; nine grandchildren, Aaron, Ashanti, Chippelle, Cepado, Naomi, Dakorie, DeAviyun, Deyun, and Noah; two sisters, Fannie Redd (Henry) and Jean Culpepper all of Lynchburg, VA; two brothers, David Shaw and Richard Shaw (Hattie) all of Lynchburg, VA and a host of very special and loyal friends, family and loved ones.
A funeral service will be held 1 p.m. Saturday, April 8, 2017 at Community Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will be in Forest Hill Cemetery. Family and friends will assemble at the funeral home. Condolences may be emailed to [email protected]
