Zelma Ruth Keyser, 75, of Bryson, Texas, passed away peacefully on May 8, 2025, surrounded by her loved ones after a courageous battle with ALS. She was born on December 13, 1949, in Graham, Texas, to Mark Elbert and Zelma Juanita Cullers. She graduated from Holliday High School in 1968.
Zelma was a devoted mother, grandmother, and friend whose life was marked by compassion, perseverance, and love. She worked tirelessly to support her family and took immense pride in the lives of her children and grandchildren. Her caring heart touched everyone she met.
Zelma had a deep love for her church, Tenth and Broad Church of Christ, and cherished the friendships she built at Parkstone Senior Village. Whether solving puzzles or playing cards with her Parkstone friends, she found joy in the simple pleasures and in the company of others.
She is preceded in death by her parents and her beloved brother, Elbert Daniel "Danny" Cullers.
Survivors include her three children: Ken Keyser and wife Lisa of Bryson, Heather and husband Michael Neer of Bryson, and Leann and husband Perry Curry of Wichita Falls; three sisters, Noma Heuchert and husband Bob, Pam Schmidt and husband Jimmy, and Becky Schmidt and husband Ronnie, all of Wichita Falls. She is also survived by thirteen grandchildren: Jonathan Keyser and wife Katie, Lydia Walden and husband Parker, Maryum Moore and husband Mason, Makayla Budarf and husband Trey, Kendri Keyser, Zoey and Shelby Neer, and Sophia, Nicholas, and Alexander Curry; as well as four great-grandchildren: Maverick, Korbin, Aaliyah, and Quade.
The family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to the compassionate staff at Sheridan Medical Lodge and Hospice of Wichita Falls for their care and support during her illness.
A celebration of life will be held 11:00 a.m. Friday, June 6, 2025 in the chapel of Owens & Brumley Funeral Home, 1317 9th St., Wichita Falls, Texas.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Hospice of Wichita Falls, P.O. Box 4804, Wichita Falls, TX 76308 or to the Sonshine House, 912 Broad Street, Wichita Falls, TX 76301.
