Judith "Judy" Ann Thurston Athens Judith "Judy" Ann Thurston, 75 of Athens, passed away Monday, January 28, 2013 at Bronson Battle Creek with her loving family by her side. Judy was born March 12, 1937 in Battle Creek, MI. She was raised by her grandparents Harry and Hazel Fall. Judy was a 1955 graduate of Athens High School. She was life member and past president of the Athens V.F.W. Ladies Auxiliary Post 5319. She retired from TH Plastics in Mendon and drove a school bus for Athens. She enjoyed gardening, her flowers, decorating for the holidays and camping with her children and grandkids. Judy had many friends and was known to many as "Grandma" and enjoyed working part time at her daughter's restaurant The Copper Kettle. Judy is survived by her son Bob (Melissa) Conant of Athens, daughters Teri (Jeff) Gould of Burr Oak and Sherry (Jeff) Hanson of Athens; grandchildren Derek, Lance, Logan, Tanner and Landon; sister Darlene (Bob) Brubaker of Marshall; and a very special baby "Pepper Dog". Preceding her in death was her brother Gary Pomeroy; her grandparents; and her partner of 30 years Lee Vaughan. Visitation Friday, February 1, 2013 from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the Spencer Family Funeral Home in Athens. Funeral Service 2:00 p.m. Saturday, February 2nd at Spencer's.
