Duane Rizor


Duane Rizor, 66, of Bellevue, passed away September 11, 2013 at home.

He was born in Nashville, Michigan on December 11, 1946, the son of Robert and Phyllis (Ruell) Rizor.

Duane graduated from Bellevue High School. He was in the United States Army proudly serving in the Vietnam War. Duane along with his wife Roni owned and operated the Plezall Restaurant and Lounge in Bellevue for 38 years.

He was a member of the V.F.W. in Nashville and the Bellevue Lions Club.

He loved playing cards, feeding the ducks with his grandkids and gatherings with the family.  Duane especially loved being with his family and his grandchildren who affectionately called him "Papa".

Duane is survived by his loving wife of 43 years Veronica "Roni" Rizor; daughters, Melissa Schlee and Renae (Scott) Martens all of Bellevue; twin sister, Sue (Bruce) McClelland of Assyria Township; sister, Jean (Dick) Otto of Delton Township; brother, Gary (Carla) Rizor of Delton; grandchildren, Elizabeth Curry and Alec Martens, and special aunt and uncle, Charlotte and Ben Franklin of LaFolette, Tennessee.

He was preceded in death by his parents, brother Randy and sister Joyce White.

The family will host a Memorial Gathering from 3 until 5:00 p.m. Wednesday, September 18, 2013 at 8125 Hall Road, Bellevue, Michigan.
