 John L. Reynolds, 70, of Goshen, passed away Sunday, July 21, 2013 at the Elkhart Hospice House in Elkhart, IN. He was born October 29, 1942 in Battle Creek, MI to Russell A. and Erma M. (Schoff) Reynolds.

On December 11, 1981 he married the love of his life Mary J. (Webster) Reynolds in Ypsilanti, MI. In addition to his wife, other survivors include a daughter, Julie (Terry) Tindol of Battle Creek; 2 sons, Timothy J. Reynolds of Battle Creek and Randy A. (Cristina) Reynolds of Sunrise, FL; brother, Freddy Reynolds of Battle Creek; 7 grandchildren, numerous friends and his beloved dog Drake.

John enjoyed a long and well respected career in the newspaper industry.   He worked his way up the ladder to Publisher of the Ypsilanti Press; and went on to publish The York Dispatch, in York,PA, where after a 104 year history of printing, John started a Sunday edition. He then worked for many major newspaper corporations before retiring in 2006 from the Goshen News.

John was accomplished golfer who enjoyed playing golf with his wife and son's; the guys" on Saturday mornings; his "tournament team" in local chamber and charity events.   He was an Avid outdoorsman who loved hunting ducks and pheasants with his Benelli shotgun and many dogs.   Other interests included camping, boating; fishing; and downhill skiing.

He was preceded in death by his parents and 2 brothers, Gordon and James Reynolds.

A gathering of family, friends and a celebration of John's life will be held Thursday, July 25, 2013 at 1:00 P.M. on the first hole of the practice course at the Binder Park Golf Course in Battle Creek, MI. Cremation has taken place at Altera Cremation Services. Billings Funeral Home, 812 Baldwin Street, Elkhart, IN, is entrusted with arrangements.
