Nelson E. (Spud) Case

Nelson E. (Spud) Case, 89, passed away on September 20, 2013 after a short illness.  He was born on July 23, 1924 in Kinderhook, MI. Preceding him in death were his parents, Daisy (Saylor) and David Case.  He had one sister, Dorothy, and three brothers; Fred, William (Bill) and David.

After 57 years of marriage a divorce followed in 2010.  Nelson has 3 daughters; Susan (Leo B.) Wilson of Union City,  LouAnne (Jim) Miller of Tekonsha and Linda (Fred) Davenport of Coldwater, five grandchildren and some great grandchildren.

He enjoyed excavating, spreading marl and limestone. He loved doing things with the bobcat, bulldozer and other heavy equipment.  He and his brother Bill started the Case Bros. business and Turtle Heights Subdivision in Union City.

His hobbies were playing cards or checkers. He loved listening to the Classic Country music, watching old Western movies, visiting with different people and especially his little dog Hope.

There will not be a visitation. Graveside services will be held Tuesday, September 24, 2013 at 2:00 p.m. at Riverside Cemetery in Union City with Leo Jay Wilson officiating.  Please no flowers, however, donations to Constance Brown Hearing Center 1634 Gull Rd. Suite 201, Kalamazoo, MI 49048, would be greatly appreciated.
