Kenneth John Cuatt


Kenneth John Cuatt, age 88, passed away Sunday, April 13, 2014 at Magnum Health & Rehab of Albion, Michigan.  He was born August 23, 1925 to James and Edna (Strohmer) Cuatt in Albion. On June 26, 1948 he married Mary Anderson who survives. He was a 1943 Graduate of Albion High School.  Kenneth was a veteran of the U.S. Navy.  He loved to talk about his ship the USS Shaw, The Shaw was seriously damaged on Pearl Harbor Day.  Kenneth worked at Decker Manufacturing for 41 years. He loved photography, he was a Detroit Tiger fan , Nascar fan and a Michigan State football fan.  Amoung his favorite things, John Deere tractors and his books.  He grew up on a farm on Bath Mills Road in Concord Township.  He was very sociable, attending parades, festivals and reunions.  He was a member of the American Legion Post #81 of Concord for 32 years.

The family wishes to thank Spring Arbor Assisted Living & Magnum Care for taking care of their Kenneth these last few years.  He really enjoyed the time he spent with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Kenneth is survived by: Wife- Mary Cuatt, Son- Jerry Cuatt. Daughter- Denice Susan (Richard) Merritt, Grandchildren- Brenda Smith, Rick Merritt, Great Grandchildren- Bradley Castle and Austin Smith, Karris & Madison Merritt. Step Great Grandchildren- Rob and William Caserta. Many nieces, nephews and cousins

He was preceded in death by his parents, brothers Robert "Bobby" and Stuart.

Visitation for family and friends will be held Saturday, April 19, 2014 from 10:00-11:00 A.M. at the J. Kevin Tidd Funeral Home, 811 Finley Drive, Albion, Michigan 49224. Funeral Service will be held Saturday, April 19th at 11:00 A.M. at the funeral home with Reverend Tim Pepper officiating.

Interment will follow at Riverside Cemetery. Memorial contributions to Heartland Hospice
